Harry J. Brooks
Mr. Brooks is the founder of GrahamJB6 Co., which began operations in January 2021. Mr. Brooks has 40+ years of experience in the banking industry, previously serving a customer base covering the greater Houston metropolitan area. From January 2010 to January 1, 2018, Mr. Brooks was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bancshares, Inc. (“CBI”) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Commercial State Bank (“CSB”), when CBI was acquired by First Financial Bankshares, Inc. (“FFIN”). Following CBI’s acquisition, Mr. Brooks served as the Kingwood Regional Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Financial Bank, N.A. until December 31, 2020. Prior to CBI, Mr. Brooks was Regional CEO for North and West Houston for Sterling Bank, where he was responsible for 21 lenders in 14 branches and total outstanding loans of approximately $650 million and commercial deposits of over $500 million. Prior to joining Sterling Bank, Mr. Brooks was the founding President, Chief Lending Officer and an initial director of Partners Bank of Texas. In a three-year period, Mr. Brooks was instrumental in growing the bank to four branches with total assets of $190 million. Partners Bank ultimately sold to Sterling Bank in 2007 for 3.28x tangible book value. Mr. Brooks is also a former outside director of SpawGlass Corporation, an employee owned company with annual revenues of $500 million, where he served for eight years on the Audit and Investment Committees. He has actively participated in many civic and community organizations including being a Board Member for the March of Dimes, Chairman of the Greenspoint Chamber of Commerce, Executive Board Member of Humble Chamber of Commerce and was a founding board member of the Humble ISD Education Foundation. Mr. Brooks holds a B.B.A. from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston. He is a graduate of the National Commercial Lending Graduate School from the University of Oklahoma and has earned the RMA Credit Risk Certification (RMA-CRC) for commercial lending.
