Brian Manning
Brian Manning is the CEO of mc 2 civil, inc. and has over thirty-one years of experience in designing and constructing transit, highway and water infrastructure projects. He is a professional engineer whose background includes award-winning achievements in fieldwork, engineering design, operations, estimating and management. Mr. Manning was instrumental in growing Sterling Construction Company, Inc. from a small Houston-based, privately held company to a national, publicly traded company. His signature projects include the original downtown section of Houston METRO Light Rail and, most recently, the reconstruction of Bagby Street in front of Houston City Hall and the Hobby Center. Mr. Manning is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive mc 2 civil, inc. and Main Lane Industries to an industry-leadership position. His key responsibilities include strategic planning, new market development, new business development (mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures), investor relations, legislative representation, risk management and succession planning. Mr. Manning also is active in professional societies by serving in leadership positions at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), The Construction Institute and the Houston Contractors Association on a local, state and national level. He graduated from Kingwood High School and received a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. Mr. Manning was a technical advisor to the IMAX Dream Big film on careers in engineering and science. He received many awards, including Edmund Friedman Young Engineer of the Year in 2000, Texas Tech Civil Engineering Academy in 2008, Outstanding Section Award-ASCE as Texas Society President in 2010 and Award of Honor-Texas ASCE in 2013.
